- Hamas officials said yesterday that the militant group has accepted the terms of an Egyptian-Qatari cease-fire proposal that Israel characterized as not meetings its core demands. [more]

- Ukraine’s SBU security service said today that it has foiled an attempt by agents of Russia’s FSB state security service to assassinate President Volodymyr Zelensky and other high-ranking Ukrainian officials. Reports say two Ukrainian government protection unit colonels have been arrested in connection with the assassination plot. [more]
- The Hague-based Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons said today that accusations of the use of chemical weapons levied by both Ukraine and Russia against each other are “insufficiently substantiated,” but that the possible re-emergence of the use of toxic chemicals as weapons remains “extremely concerning.” [more]

BIDEN CLASSIFIED DOCUMENTS | The Associated Press cites unnamed sources as saying that the Republican-led House Judiciary Committee is moving forward with plans to hold Attorney General Merrick Garland in contempt of Congress for refusing to turn over the unredacted audio of an interview that was conducted as part of the special counsel investigation into President Joe Biden’s handling of classified documents. CHINA | Authorities in China’s southwestern Yunnan province say two people were killed, and another 21 were injured, today in a knife attack on patients and staff at the Zhenxiong County People’s Hospital. AIRLINE INDUSTRY | The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration said yesterday that it has opened an investigation into allegedly falsified inspection records on certain Boeing 787 aircraft at a South Carolina plant.
